North west-based infrastructure service provider NWIX, has today announced it has passed its ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 recertifications with flying colours.

NWIX builds high performance network solutions, utilising its own national fibre optic infrastructure, for organisations that rely on the Internet to do business and those that need very high bandwidth such as data centres. It has been awarded ISO 9001 since it was founded in 2004 , having realised the importance of quality management systems to its customers and partners. It was also awarded ISO 27001, a standard that is accredited to organisations that have information security under explicit management control.

Pippa Dyal, chief HR officer at NWIX is also responsible for the firm’s safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) practices . Of the recertifications, Pippa said: “Holding these internationally recognised awards is extremely important in terms of being able to demonstrate our compliance to our partners and customers.

“Corporate governance responsibilities are placing increasing burdens on the board and this extends to the way in which businesses and organisations handle and transport data. Our customers can have the peace of mind that we stand by our service level agreements and guarantees, and also comply with and are committed to a number of widely recognised accreditations and standards including ISO 9001 and 27001.”

“Among others, these standards provide a framework which forms part of the process of being able to deliver projects that are second to none.”

The scope of the ISO standards NWIX has been recertified for covers the ‘supply and provision of managed communications connectivity and support’ . NWIX is now also considering working towards ISO 20000, the first internationally recognised standard for IT service management.
